Police have arrested Foudilal Mukhiya, 66, of Ratuwamai Municipality-4 on March 13 on the charge of raping an eight-year-old girl with an intellectual disability.
The victim had lodged a complaint against the accused at the Area Police Office, Sijuwa on March 12 alleging that the accused had raped the girl while she was in the field.
According to DSP Man Bahadur Rai of the District Police Office, the accused was arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the victim. He added, the victim lodged a complaint after the sisters of the victim informed her parents about the incident.
The girl has been examined at Koshi Hospital on March 14.
