Binod Darji, 21, of Chapakot Municipality-4 has been sentenced to 10 years in jail for raping a 14-year-old girl.
A bench of Syangja District Court Judge Surya Bahadur Thapa declared him guilty on February 16, 2021 and sentenced him to 10 years imprisonment for rape, informed Shrestedar Bishwaprasad Regmi.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Syangja on March 7 alleging that the accused had raped her. The accused was arrested on the same day following a complaint by the victim.
The victim was examined at the District Hospital, Syangja on March 7.
The accused was remanded in custody by the district court on April 4, 2020, and a case was filed against him at the District Court of Syangja on April 5.
The health checkup of the victim was conducted on April 5, 2020.
Darji was sent to judicial custody on April 28, 2020.
