Accused of Vandalizing Labor and Employment Office Arrested

Police have arrested Jogilal Yadav, 66, of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-13 and Arjun Prasad Yadav, 47, of Biratnagar Metropolitan City-16 on January 19 on charges of vandalizing the Labor and Employment Office at Biratnagar Metropolitan City-3.

According to DSP Man Bahadur Rai of the District Police Office, Morang, the accused were arrested for vandalizing the office on January 20 following a dispute over the trade union registration and renewal process.

 DSP Rai said that the window glass of the office was broken due to the vandalism. Earlier, the office was vandalized on January 3. Police said that those involved in the vandalism are still absconding.

 Ram Prasad Timalsina, Branch Officer of the Labor and Employment Office, said that the workers were involved in vandalism due to a dispute over the registration and renewal process of trade unions involving workers in industries and factories.

According to Timalsina, a Branch Officer, the workers had applied for trade union registration at the office and the workers were called for identification while proceeding with the process.
