Police have arrested Harka Bahadur BK, 42, of Bhadrapur Municipality-2, Mahalakshmi Municipality-6, Imadol, Jhapa on December 31 on charge of raping a 9-year-old girl.
The victim was raped on December 29. The parents of the victim had lodged a complaint against the accused BK at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Satdobato on December 30. According to DSP Mitrabandhu Sharma, the accused has been remanded in custody for seven days by the Lalitpur District Court.
The girl was examined at Patan Hospital on December 31.
