The Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) has provided Rs 10,000 to a 38-year-old single woman with a disability to help her with the legal process.

Madhav Raj Adhikari, the district chairperson of the Nepal Bar Association, handed over the money on December 22 under the presence of media persons including District Secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Nabin Sharma.

The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office on November 25 alleging that the victim was raped at home by Netra Thapa, 28, of Athabis Municipality-1.

The accused is absconding, said Inspector Indrajit Sunar of the District Police Office.

The victim expressed her grief to INSEC as it was difficult for her to earn a living due to her physical disability.

Adhikari, chairperson of Nepal Bar, Amar Sunar, INSEC representative, businessman Manoj Thapa, and well-wishers had donated Rs 2,200 in cash for the transportation expenses and also gave her sweaters and shoes.
