Banned CPN Cadre Kills Teacher After Abduction; Party Takes the Responsibility

Cadre of the banned Communist Party of Nepal led by Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav) killed Rajendra Shrestha, a 54-year-old teacher of Miklajung Rural Municipality-1, Barkhe. The accused had killed Shrestha by slitting his throat.

According to SP Santosh Khadka of the District Police Office, Shrestha was abducted from his house at around 6:15 am on December 8 and taken to a forest half an hour away.

The banned CPN has claimed responsibility for the murder of Shrestha, the principal of Saraswati Primary School in Miklajung Rural Municipality-1, alleging six different things in a statement. A statement issued in the name of Mechikoshi Bureau in-charge Pratap said that Shrestha was killed in retaliation.

Madan Shrestha, a neighbor of the deceased, said that Shrestha was abducted from his house by a group of six people and taken to the forest. He said that he saw the body covered with cloth and blood was flowing all around. Shrestha, said that the police did not arrive till 12 noon as the incident site was in a remote area and four or five of them were guarding the body.

Journalist Santosh Gautam, who was on his way to the spot, said that he had received information that a group of six people had taken Shrestha to the forest with his hands tied and they killed him.
