A complaint has been lodged against husband Shamsher Bahadur Khatri, 21, Chitra Bahadur Khatri, 55, sisters Devi Khatri Bhandari, 35, and Kamala Khatri, 27, on September 25 on charges of caste-based discrimination against a 20-year-old woman.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the District Police Office, Butwal on September 26 alleging that the accused had for her to perform a two-month abortion on July 29, 2020, and abused her as the lower caste on September 15, 2020.
According to DSP Khadak Bahadur Khatri of the District Police Office, action has been taken against the accused on the basis of the complaint lodged by the victim under the Caste-based Untouchability and Offense Punishment Act 2068 BS.
