District Court has declared 16 years’ of imprisonment to a 41-year-old maternal uncle for raping his 16-year-old niece. The decision was declared on September 9.
The decision was taken by Judge Bishwa Nath Bhattarai’s bench and he was fined Rs. 30,000 and Rs 50,000 as compensation to the victim.
The accused had raped the victim on May 23, 2019, and the complaint was filed on June 7 at the Area Police Office.
Health checkup of the victim was conducted on June 3 at Mechi Hospital.
