The patients of the district are facing crisis after doctors came to strike showing dissatisfaction on the issue of adjustment. The health services of far-western province have been affected due to the strike. Only the emergency services are operating in the district.
The indefinite strike by the doctors have resulted the closure of Seti Zonal Hospital except the emergency services creating the crisis among the patients. Patients are compelled to pay high price to get treatment in private clinics.
Bisha Bista, 70 of Patan Municipality-8 said that he could not treat his 65 years old wife due to the strike called on by the doctors.
He added that he is compelled to spent more money due to the strike and loosing all money that he had saved for the treatment of his wife.
Similarly, 36 years old Jeevan Chaudhary of Chuhalamki Municipality-5 said that he could not treat sickle cell treatment of his 14 years old daughter Misa Chaudhary due to the strike.
Chairperson Dr Pramod Joshi of Nepal Doctors Association said that the adjustment of doctors must be made in provincial and federal level based on population and added that the strike will continue until the demand is not met.
In Seti Hospital more than 250 patients are coming in a daily basis for receiving OPD services.
