Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC) and NHRC jointly conducted monitoring of District prison of Gulmi under province 5 on March 31.
The NHRC team included Pawan Bhatta, vice-director of Butwal NHRC, officer Indrajit Sahani, INSEC district representative Top Lal Aryal and civil worker Shiva Lal Subedi.
The monitoring team found that the inmates and detainees are having space issues and are not getting any basic services. Majority of inmates complained of having water issue. They said that they are having very pathetic life inside the prison.
