Police have arrested 47 years old SI Surya Bahadur Shahi of Chankheli Rural Municipality Humla and currently working at police post at Chaina, Mugu on charge of raping 30 years old woman. The victim said that she was raped by an accused on February 15 luring her of paying back debt. On a same day, the complaint was lodged at District Police Office by the victim.
She underwent health checkup on a same day at District Hospital. She said that the accused even threatened her for lodging complaint at DPO. DSP Lal Bahadur Aire said that a verbal complaint has been lodged by the victim’s family. He added that further action will be taken after the written complaint is lodged by the victim.
