We struggle until we do not get justice: Conflict victims

The conflict victims of Rukum (west) said that they will struggle until they do not get the justice. They complained of not getting justice and compensation even after 12 years.

The conflict victims showed their dissatisfaction to the government of not solving their issues even after the end of armed conflict. Conflict victim Durga Rawal, a single woman of Musikot Municipality-7 said ” we could have forget the pain if justice was provided”. She remembered the day her husband was killed while on the way to work 16 years ago and added that pressure must be exerted until the justice is delivered.

Bishnu Devkota of Sisne Rural Municipality-6 Rukumkot said that she do not want to remember the day when her innocent husband was killed by the state party . ” That day will always give me pain and we will fight until we do not get justice”, she said.

She said that after the death of her husband all burden of the family came over her head. Another victim Prem Kumari Buda of Bhume Rural Municipality- 5 remembered the day when her 20 tolas of gold was looted during the conflict. She complained of not getting any compensation yet. She added that she had already lodged complaint at Local peace committee; however no action is taken yet.

According to INSEC documentation, 561 people in Rukum had lost their lives  and three of them became disabled during armed conflict. They all said that pressure must be exerted for reparation and justice. They showed their dissatisfaction on the way that TRC and CIEDP is working.
