Agitators stages sit-in-protest in District Hospital, service disrupted

The health service of the district has been severely affected n May 2 due to the padlocking of the District Hospital by the agitators in protest of death of post-natal woman accusing the negligence of doctor. All services have been disrupted except the emergency services.

Patients are facing difficulties after OPD, X-ray and pathological services were disrupted due to the agitation.

One of the patient, Kamal Khadka said that he came to the hospital to get immunization for tuberculosis however he was deprived of the service due to the agitation. He added that he was compelled to pay higher price to get the same immunization at local medical. After the disruption of the service, patients are heading to Dang via ambulance according to local Mahendra Ahrestha.

On May 1, postnatal woman Radhika Dhami of Pyuthan Municipality-2 had died during operation.

The agitators have also disrupted the transportation affecting short and long routed vehicles.

According to acting chief Dr Sushil Acharya of the hospital, the dialogue between the victims party and CDO is continuing to solve the issue.
