Studies affected after the delay in reconstructing schools

Majority of the schools in Okhaldhuna which were damaged due to the earthquake are still waiting for reconstruction. Due to the delay in reconstruction of schools, the studies of most of the students are affected in the district.

Students are facing difficulties in their studies in winter season as they are studying under the zinc roof according to teacher Lakpa Sherpa.

None of the schools have been renovated or reconstructed. The earthquake had completely damaged 84 schools and minor damage on 176 schools. Total of 810 school rooms were damaged.

In remote part of the district, schools are being operated in temporary hut and due to the cold weather; the students are facing difficulties to go to the class room according to Principal Santosh Kaji Karki of Maheshwor Secondary School.
