Vote counting under the proportional representation has concluded in 75 districts where the first and second phase of the November 26 and December 7 direct elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies were held, said the Election Commission quoting RSS.
According to a statement released by the EC on Saturday, PR votes counting are underway however in some constituencies of two other Sunari and Sarlahi districts (constituency 1 of Sunsari and constituency 2, 3 and 4 of Sarlahi).
According to the Information System Management Section at the EC, so far a total of 9,372,544 votes have been counted and the CPN (UML) is in the first position with 3,161,295 votes to its favour. Likewise, the Nepali Congress is the second place with 3,111,643 votes and the CPN (Maoist Centre) following it with 1,295,903 votes.
Similarly, the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal has garnered 470,486, the Federal Socialist Forum Nepal 469,461 and the Bibeksheel Sajha Party has obtained 212,293 votes.
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has registered 196,190 votes in the party name, the RPP (Democratic) 88,280, the Naya Shakti Party Nepal 81,446 and the Rastriya Janamorcha has got 62,123 votes.
Similarly, other political parties including the Nepal Workers and Peasants’ Party and Federal Democratic National Forum have collectively obtained 354,405 votes.
