Relief distribution with Photo Banner against Code of Conduct

The election office has failed to take action against political parties who are openly violating the election code of conduct in the name of relief distribution for flood victims.

The election code of conduct has already been enforced on province number 2 focusing the upcoming third phase of local level election on September 18.

Various organizations and institutions are providing relief to the flood victims in flood affected area.

Political parties and their sister wings are openly operating relief operation despite of government enforcement of one door relief distribution system and local administration has failed to control them.

Especially the party with their government in power is openly violating the election code of conduct.

On August 18, the possible mayor candidate for Gaur Municipality, Dhirendra Prasad Singh, of Nepali Congress has openly distributed the relief materials along with a banner and his photo which is serious violation of election code of conduct.

Similarly, Singh has distributed the rice sacks having party’s name, his name and photo on it.

CDO Uddav Bahadur Thapa said that relief cannot be distributed on that way however the local administration is unaware of it.

Meanwhile, on August 18 Nepali congress leader Ram Chandra Paudel along with three ministers came to Rautahat in Chopper and distributed relief in the name of party.
