INSEC and a team of human rights activists have rescued a 16-year-old girl of K.I Singh Rural Municipality-5 from Dipayal Pipalla Bazaar on September 28, 2021.
Due to psychosocial instability the girl had left her house and had been living around Dipayal Pipalla area for the past five years. After receiving the information related to her whereabouts, the team of human rights activists including INSEC had coordinated with the police and rescued the girl.
Tej Damrel, a human rights activist, said that the girl was living around Dipayal’s Pipalla Bazaar and Seti River and had been sleeping on the river bank and on the roadside at night. He added that since she was vulnerable to different kind of abuses, the team coordinated with the police and rescued her.
Laxmi Malla, the mother of the victim, said that her father was employed abroad and she had been trying but could not keep her at home due to her mental instability.
The girl was rescued by Area Police Office, Dipayal’s Sub Inspector Rupsingh Thapa, women’s rights activist Parvati Parki, social activist Tej Dumrel and INSEC district representative Ganesh Joshi. She was handed over to her mother and Ram Chandra Rana, Chairperson of K.I Singh Rural Municipality-5. The victim has been admitted to Shaileshwari Hospital in Dipayal for treatment.
Dr. I. Jung Kunwar of Shaileshwari Hospital said that they will do their best to treat the girl.
The girl’s mother Laxmi Malla has requested to take initiative for treatment and other assistance due to their fragile financial condition. The girl is undergoing initial treatment at Shaileshwari Hospital.
