The cadres of CPN UML have vandalized and padlocked the party office at Chaudandi Municipality on June 6 on charge of province Committee recommending the candidate of Mayor different from the one that was recommended by the city committee. The agitated cadres have vandalized the office, padlocked and put the black flag on it.
The furious cadres even set fire on chair and tables inside the party city committee. The cadres had demonstrated in Beltaar Bazar after padlocking the office before converting the rally into triangle assembly.
The cadres said that the office will remain locked until the decision made by the committee is not corrected. The cadres have also announced that they will not let enter the candidate recommended by the provincial committee.
A police force led by the inspector Asha Ram Chaudhary of Area Police office of Beltaar reached to an incident site to control the mob.
The city committee had recommended Kumar Singh Karki, Rajendra Katuwal, Shambu Paudel and Kalu Lama for the candidate of mayor. The dispute started after the province committee has bring forward another name of Narendra Raut for the post of mayor.
