It was found that the voters education for the second phase of election operated in the district is ineffective. The trained volunteers have been mobilized in village for the voter’s education however it is not being that effective.
In demo voting, at least 11 ballot papers were void despite of voters education according to the District election office. There were total of 43 participants in demo election and out of which 11 votes were void according to election officer Dinesh Khatri. In percentage, this is 25.58 in total which is not satisfactory.
The voters were confused while casting demo vote because of the length of the ballot paper. They participated in the demo voting only after getting information from chief election officer, election officer, representative from election office, parties representative and observers.
It was found that most of the voters do not even know about the method of voting. Some of them did not know how to use stamp and stamp pad which shows that voters education is not being effective in the district.
The voter’s education is operating in the district. There are 173 polling centres in Khotang and 175 volunteers have been mobilized for the voter’s education according to District Election Office.
