The complaint has been lodged on December 22 at district police office against 43 years old Chinta Mani Neupane and VDC Office Assistant of Arbeni, Chabilal Neupane accused of displacing 81-year-old Lal Bahadur Sunar and 42-year-old Sabitra Neupane of Arbeni-5 who were involved in inter-caste marriage.
The son of a victim filed a complaint demanding to take action against them who displaced the couples by judging their relationship.
He said, both were forced to fingerprint the paper of displacement.
The complaint was lodged in the initiation of District Dalit rights worker and INSEC when INSEC online news portal published the news titled ‘Dalit couple expelled from village accusing of Inter-caste marriage’ and other various media broadcasted about the incident.
Utpidit Jatiya Mukti central member Krishna Sunar, INSEC district representative Top lal Aryal, Nepal Dalit Association President Chabindra B.K, and Nepal Dalit Mukti Morcha vice-chairman Dil Bahadur Pariyar, journalists Prem Sunar, Mukti community district member Krishna Nepali went to meet the team of District Police Office DSP Mahendra Nepal demanding to investigate the incident and to take strict action against the perpetrator.
DSP Nepal has ordered police office of Purtighat to file the case under public offense and to present the perpetrator. Dalit activist Krishna Sunar stated that if the case is not filed immediately under public offense, the case will be filed in district court against the racial discrimination.
The house of the victim has also been destroyed as claimed by the victim’s party. Large group of locals threatened to burn down the house and thus was forced to destroy the house according to victim’s son who came to headquarter to report.
