The district headquarter of Tamghas remained tensed on December 16 after a clash started between police and band enforcers started while attempting to open a locked District Administration Office.
The clash raised between police and demonstrators staging sit-in-protest after the police administration forcefully attempted to reopen the locked District Administration Office. In a clash, parliamentarian Kamala BK of CPN ML, INSEC Gulmi district representative Top Lal Aryal including 25 demonstrators were injured according to Padam Pandey of joint revolutionary Committee. At least seven policemen were injured in a clash.
INSEC district representative Top Lal Aryal said that he was attacked by the police while he was taking picture.
Police had used 24 cells of tear gas to control the mob. The agitating mob had even blazed two vehicles.
The demonstrators have demanded for the transfer of CDO after they were suppressed while doing a peaceful protest. Parliamentarian Gokarna Bista of CPN UML said that they will never let the proposal to pass.
Agitation deployment committee coordinator Bhuwan Prasad Shrestha said that today, 45 government offices were locked together by the protesters.
DSP Mahendra Nepal of District Police Office said that the police was compelled to use force after the demonstrators started to hurl stones to the police.
