The senior citizens of Khotang district are agitated after the name of Diktel Municipality was removed during the process of sending the model of restructuring of local level to the commission.
They were agitated after the well-known name “Diktel” was removed and re named as Rupakot Majhuwagadhi.
They have presented the memorandum to the Local Development Officer demanding to include Diktel and making the municipality as Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi and Diktel Majhuwagadhi Rupakot.
A rally was organized with slogans on November 27 and memorandum was presented to the District Development Committee. They have further warned to make the agitation more effective if their demands were not addressed.
Diktel has a historical background and it is not possible to remove its name, according to the senior citizen Durga Ghimire.
