The District Court of Ilam has ordered to sentence Durga Prasad Bhattarai,28 of Chisapani VDC-5 for one year along with penalty of Rs 5,000 on charge of polygamy.
A single bench of District Court judge Nawa Raj Dahal has given a verdict regarding the case after finding him guilty in polygamy.
The accused had married Shanata Tamang,27 of Nuwakot district on June 2. A complaint against him was lodged by his first wife Goma Devi Bhattarai on June 20 at DPO. The court however acquitted Samjhana Tamang as she was duped by an accused.
