Woman Reportedly Abducted Found Dead in Chitwan

The dead body of Sujita Bhandari, 23, was recovered inside the Brahmasthini community forest of Rapti municipality-3 on July 4, 2021. The locals who had gone to the forest to pick mushrooms had informed the police after seeing the body.

Her body was found stuck in a bush in the middle of the forest and the incident spot has been sealed said the police. Although the body was found in a decayed condition, the family has identified it as Sujita.

Sujita had gone missing on her way to her friend’s house at 6 am on June 25. At 12 pm, on the same day, she had informed her elder sister that she was abducted by two women and a man. According to her family members, she had asked her elder sister to save her after which she was contactless.

Immediately after this, the family of the victim had filed a complaint at the District Police Office. The victim’s side has blamed the police for her death and alleged them for not investigating seriously.

Meanwhile, the locals have obstructed the police from taking the body to the hospital for postmortem. They have blocked the Piple section of the East-West Highway to pressurize the police to find the killer of Sujita.

Locals have demanded to find the killer and take action against him as soon as possible. They also demanded that the government provide financial assistance to Sujita’s family as their financial condition is weak.
