Two Students Injured in Vandalism at Education Coordination Unit

Police have intervened after the students of Beni Bhola Namuna Secondary School in Godaita Municipality-8 vandalized the office of the Education Coordination Unit in Malangwa Municipality-2.

Students who had besieged the Office on March 22 claiming that the teachers’ posts had been reduced.

Ram Kumar Mahato, 13, and Subodh Kumar Rai, 12, were injured when police fired three tear gas shells to control the situation after the students started vandalizing the office, said teacher Ram Naresh Rai.

The injured students have been treated at the District Hospital, Malangwa, and sent home. DSP Madan of District Police Office Malangwa arrested Ram Kishore Sah, 11, Raghubir Mahato, 12, Rajkumar Rai, 11, Rakesh Rai Yadav, 14, Virendra Kumar Rai, 13, and Ram Bishwas Rai Yadav, 36, of Gadita Municipality-8 on the charge of vandalism, informed Kunwar.

Sanjiv Kumar Rai, a 15-year-old student of Godaita Municipality, said that the students locked the office of Godaita Municipality on the charge of removing the posts in the school.

Anil Sah, an employee of the education department, said that the teachers of the school had vandalized the infrastructure and furniture of the office and caused damage worth a few hundred thousand.
