Family Displaced Due To Landslide Compelled To Stay In a School From A Week 

Thirteen families of Isma rural municipality-4 Dohali Ratapani and Khasu village, displaced due to the landslide are compelled to stay in a school from the past seven days.  

The landslide had occurred after a heavy and continuous rainfall of 20 June 2020 after which nine families of Ratapani and four families of Khasu village have been displaced. Some of them are also sheltering in their neighbours’ houses. 

Five families of Ratapani are staying at Musikot municipality-2 and two are staying at Jana Shakti Primary School, three are staying in cowsheds. They have been displaced from a week and leaving their food-grains and cattle on stake. 

During this difficult time while the country is suffering from coronavirus spread, we are having difficult time living in small rooms many people, informed displaced Man Bahadur Gharti to INSEC’s representative. 

According to Meena Gharti, ward member of Isma rural municipality-4, the four families of Khasu village are staying in a school which is still prone to landslide; therefore, the rural municipality should be looking for other shelters to move them. 

Due to construction of the road joining Rakse-Kalyar-Fulbari-Krishnanagar, two villages were displaced. 

The displaced family has asked for resettlement for all them together as they are not in any condition to go back home. 

According to the chairperson of Isma rural municipality, at present they have provided rs 10 thousand, food-grains, tents and blankets and they will soon be resettled together.
