Leela Bahadur BK, 40, of Amalachaur in Baglung Municipality-12 has been sentenced to seven years in prison for raping a 43-year-old woman and making her pregnant.
A bench of Baglung District Court Judge Basudev Neupane sentenced the accused to seven years imprisonment on March 16 and he was also fined NRs 80,000 as compensation, informed Baglung District Court’s Information Officer Surya Prasad Bhandari.
The victim had lodged a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office, Baglung on November 15, 2019, alleging that the accused had raped her on April 14, 2019.
The accused, who was absconding after the incident, was arrested and a case was registered against him in the District Court, Baglung on January 14, 2019, on the charge of rape.
