District Court of Baglung has sentenced Bul Bahadur BK, 26, of Galkot Municipality-1 to three years and six months in jail for attempting to rape a 78-year-old woman.
A bench of Judge Basudev Neupane convicted the accused of his deeds and sentenced him to three years and six months imprisonment on March 16. He was also fined NRs 25,000 as compensation, to the victim, informed Information Officer Surya Prasad Bhandari.
The victim had lodged a complaint against the accused at the District Police Office, Baglung on August 19 alleging that the accused had attempted to rape her.
Following the complaint of the victim, the police arrested the accused on August 19 and registered a case against him in the District Court, Baglung on August 21 under the title of attempted rape.
