Police have arrested Indra Bahadur Tamang, 65, of Konjyosom Rural Municipality-5, Bhardeu on December 27 on a charge of raping a 66-year-old woman.
The victim’s relatives had lodged a complaint against the accused Tamang at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Chapagaun on December 9 alleging that he had raped the victim.
The accused has been remanded in custody for seven more days by the Lalitpur District Court on December 27, said DSP Krishna Raj Ojha.
The health examination of the victim was conducted at Patan Hospital, Lalitpur on December 27 said, Dr Ravi Shakya.
