There was a clash between the locals and Police on 8 May 2020 at Rapti Municipality-5 Chaukidanda.
Police has arrested four after the clash. The arrested ones are- Ranjit Waiba (24), Suman Waiba (20), Sancharas Ghalan (22) and Dhan Bahadur Ghalan (35) of Rapti Municipality-5. In the clash,three policemen- Abadesh Prasad Yadav, Lukesh Jargha and Sujan Baraili were also injured. Policeman Yadav is being treated at Bharatpur Hospital and two others are in normal state.
The arrested four are in the Area Police Office’s post, informed DSP Ek Narayan Koirala. Their health checkup has not been conducted.
Police had seized 34 kgs of Marijuana from Rapti Municipality- 12 and while doing so locals had obstructed them after which police had to fire in the air.
In the clash, the locals had sabotaged the vehicle of Ratnanagar Municipality and Area Police Office after which the police had to fire in the air.
