Police arrested 21 individuals on charges of arson and vandalism at a police station during the Gen Z protest on September 8 and 9. Police arrested them for allegedly damaging and setting fire to the District Police Office in Morang, the Pathari and Urlabari police stations, Majhare police post, CRV post in Keshaliya, Traffic post in Jatuwa, Morang District Traffic Office, traffic islands, traffic lights, and CCTV cameras, according to DSP Kopila Chudal of the District Police Office.
After a detailed investigation, 11 individuals were arrested on November 14 for their involvement in the vandalism and arson at the District Police Office, Majhare Police Post, CRV Post in Keshaliya, Traffic Post in Jatuwa, Morang District Traffic Office, traffic islands, traffic lights, and CCTV cameras. The arrested individuals are: Bishal Balmiki, 22, from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-5, Gopi Shah, 27, from Biratnagar-9, Bishnu Majhi, 20, from Biratnagar-9, Bishnu Majhi, 20, from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-14, Mukesh Yadav, 22, fromJahada Rural Municipality-5, Prabesh Mandal, 30, from Jahada Rural Municipality-2, Sushil Yadav, 25, from Jahada Rural Municipality-3, Chandan Yadav, 24, Biratnagar Metropolitan City-6, and Kisan Sahani, 29, from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-6.
Similarly, police arrested five individuals on charges of arson and vandalism at the Area Police Office in Pathari. The arrested are: Chandra Karki, 23, Dipak Chaudhary, 23, Mukesh Baraili, 25, Bishwas Thapa, 25, and Mithun Mandal, 26, all from Patharishanichare Municipality-1.
Police arrested five individuals on charges of vandalism and arson at the Area Police Office in Urlabari Municipality-6. The arrested are: Rajkumar Sahani, 29, Uday Thapa, 45, Bablu Shah, 40, Milan Rai, 30, all from Urlabari Municipality-6; and Rabin Sundas, 30, from Urlabari Municipality-7. The police have filed a case against all the accused at the District Court on15 November under the charge of criminal disturbance through the District Government Attorney’s Office and have proceeded with legal action.
