Police arrested Mann Bahadur Chaudhary, 42, on April 2, on charges of raping a 13-year-old girl.
The accused allegedly raped the minor on March 5. After receiving information that the case had been informally settled through a local compromise, the INSEC representative coordinated with the Area Police Office, Saljhandi, rescued the child, and filed a complaint against the accused at the same office on April 2.
The child, who comes from an economically disadvantaged background, has been living with her grandparents as her parents are not present. She had also been threatened not to disclose the incident to anyone.
A medical examination of the survivor was conducted on April 2 at Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal.
The INSEC representative has also coordinated with the Area Police Office, Saljhandi, the Child Helpline, and the Child Search and Coordination Office of Lumbini Province to ensure the safety and protection of the child.
