The District Court sentenced Suraj Karki, 24, of Ishwarpur Municipality-3 to nine years imprisonment for raping a 15-year-old girl. Gyan Bahadur Khatri, the court registrar, stated that the bench of Judge Pushparaj Thapliya on 2 December found the accused guilty and issued the verdict along with Rs 35,000 in compensation to the victim.
The aggrieved party filed a complaint at the Malangwa District Police Office on 13 December 2023, alleging that the accused had raped the girl on 18 November 2023. The victim underwent a medical examination at Sarlahi District Hospital, Malangwa, on 15 December 2023.
