Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers organized an all-party meeting with an agenda of COVID-19 Control and Treatment on April 10. In the meeting chief minister, Doramani Poudel along with other ministers shared the province government’s interventions and plans to fight against coronavirus outbreak.
According to the District Representative of Rasuwa, Hemanath Khatiwada, elected representatives and health workers are actively mobilized for the awareness-raising programs. Across the district, health services are being provided from 55 health institutions.
According to the District Representative of Makawanpur, Pushparaj Adhikari, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan Office has provided relief packages to 3,118 families. Mayor Hari Bahadur Mahat has informed that his local government has established 7.5 Million NPR “Corona Virus Control and Treatment Emergency Fund” which has been mobilized within “Relief Distribution Guidelines.”
According to the District Representative of Chitwan, Dipendra Adhikari, police has arrested 10 people for violating the lockdown rules.
Bharatpur Corona Hospital has discharged 81 people from quarantine after completion of 14 days and has been conducting COVID-19 tests. Among 90 sample tests, 86 test reports resulted in negative and result of remaining 4 test reports is yet to come.
According to the District Representative of Ramechhap, Navaraj Ghimire, a senior citizen who was admitted to Tamakoshi Hospital due to high fever, has died on the night of April 9. His swab sample was sent to Dhulikhel hospital for the test.
In the district total, 79 people are kept in quarantine.
Umakunda Rural Municipality has established a million NPR “Corona Virus Control and Treatment Emergency Fund.”
According to the District Representative of Dhading District, Sitaram Adhikari, Ganga Jamuna Rural Municipality has distributed relief packages to 166 families of daily wage earners. Also, rural municipality-provided essential food supplies to 10 workers who came from India, Siraha and Saptari. Likewise, Benighat Rural Municipality distributed food materials to 513 families in need.
Nilakantha Municipality has started to provide daily meals to the stranded people due to the lockdown, including daily wage earners, and poor families.
The 27 people who stayed in quarantine have returned to their homes on April 10, after all, COVID-19 tests resulted in negative.
According to the District Representative of Nuwakot, Navadip Shrestha, 1229 families of daily wage earners have been providing essential food supplies.
According to the District Representative of Sindhuli, Bimala Pandey, among 7 COVID-19 test cases in Sindhuli Hospital, 6 cases resulted in negative and remaining result of 1 case is yet to come.
Kamalamai Municipality Disaster Management Directorial and Coordination Committee Meeting has prepared a guideline for relief package distribution. Also, the meeting has decided to provide about half a million NPR promotional allowances to the front line health workers.
According to the District Representative of Sindhupalchok, Natibabu Dhital, 8 people are discharged from quarantine after all their COVID-19 tests resulted in negative. Jugal Rural Municipality has established COVID-19 Help Desk in the rural municipality border. In the facilitation of INSEC district representative, District Health Office has provided a set of PPE to the ambulance drivers. After getting PPE, driver Prem Prasad Chaulagain has said that he now feels much safer and feels more confident to serve any kind of patient.
According to the District Representative of Lalitpur Dipak Prasad Ghimire, all 41 reports of COVID-19 test cases resulted in negative. The local governments of the district have collected data of the people in need and are prepared to distribute essential food supplies.
According to the District Representative of Kavre, Hiraman Tamang, Banks and financial institutions of the district are going to be opened from April 12. The Chief District Officer Shravankumar Adhikari held a meeting with financial institution personnel and has decided to open the banks and financial institutions every day from 11 AM to 1 PM. Panauti Municipality has started the second phase relief distribution program. The essential food materials collected in the Food Bank have been provided to the people in need. The joint meeting of Panchakhal Municipality has decided the opening hours of Food, Vegetables and Fruit Shops. Those shops will be opened twice a week (Sunday and Friday) from 6 Am to 10 Am. Bhumlu Municipality has established 30-bed quarantine ward in Prakash Secondary School.
According to the District Representative of Bhaktapur, Ramesh Giri, so far 956 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in Bhaktapur Hospital. Organization, “Manaviya Aastha Nepal” has provided 14 sets of PPE to Bhaktapur hospital. Likewise, a member of Community Teaching Hospital Gatthaghar, Bhaktapur, Kashi Chhwa has provided 9 sets of PPE to health workers and Ambulance drivers.
Bhaktapur District Representative Ramesh Giri reports that a press conference of the Ministry of Health and Population has confirmed that COVID-19 tests of 2,366 cases have been conducted and no new cases have been added. There are 134 people across the country kept in isolation and 8,580 people are in quarantine. During the conference, spoke person of the ministry, Dr Bikash Devkota also informed that 3,306 complaints are addressed through the ministry. Among the 829 people, who filled out COVID-19 self-evaluation form through the mobile application, 3 people have been evaluated under the red zone.
According to Dr Devkota, COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) has been established in 77 districts. National level CCMC was already established in Armed Police Force Hospital and Nepal Army Hospital in Kathmandu. There are more than 100 wards and 56 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) established in those hospitals.
The press conference of the Ministry of Health and Population has briefed that for all 9 infected cases, families, relatives and friend circle’s contact tracing was conducted. The spoke person of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Rajendra Poudel has informed that, until April 10, about 200 Million NPR was collected on “COVID-19 Control and Treatment Fund.”
