The province government and the local level are working together with the federal government in the campaign against the Coronavirus. Campaigns have been launched against the COVID-19 at one hundred and thirty-seven local levels of the province. Out of the fourteen districts of the province eight of them are connected with the neighbouring country (INDIA). According to the Ministry of Social Development of the Province 1, quarantine was constructed on 3 March, with the capacity of three thousand six hundred fifty-eight beds.
Four hundred and fifty Isolation Wards have been arranged throughout the province. A total of six hundred and seventy-six PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) personal protective equipment has been distributed across the province till March 31. During the period the Swab test of 59 have been completed. Of which 42 reports are negative and seventeen reports are yet to come out. Distribution of PPE has been made in all the nine districts of the province. Social Development Ministry of Province 1 has distributed 100 units in Jhapa, one hundred seventy-two in Sunsari, seventy-six in Sankhuwasabha, 1 in Bhojpur, twenty-one in Khotang, thirteen in Ilam, one hundred and forty-six in Solukhumbu, one hundred and thirty-seven in Udayapur and 10 in Panchthar.
According to the Ministry of Social Development, a total of 419- 385 men and 34 women have been kept in quarantine till 3 March. In the home quarantine, there are 2,400 males and 463 females. The quarantine has been constructed in province 1 are- 376 in Jhapa, 630 in Morang, 303 in Sunsari, 92 in Dhankuta, 120 in Tehrathum, 106 in Sankhuwasabha, 268 in Bhojpur, 2 80in Khotang, 277 in Ilam, 180 in Okhaldhunga, 441 in Solukhumbu, 381 in Udayapur and 204 in Panchthar.
In province 1 Isolation Ward has been constructed among them in Jhapa has 27, Morang has 98, Sunsari has 104, Dhankuta has 12, Tehrathum has 14, Sankhuwasabha has 16, Bhojpur has 6, Khotang has 5, Ilam has 2, Okhaldhunga has 11, Solukhumbu has 31, Udayapur has 42, Panchthar has 22 and Taplejung has 11. Isolation wards constructed at Jurkiya Primary Health Center in Morang has been closed due to insufficiency of Isolation Ward criteria. Earlier, Morang had the capacity of 106 beds.
According to Morang District Representative Netra Prasad Adhikari, as many as 100 men and 102 women have been kept in quarantine till March 3.
Similarly, 796 men and 196 women are kept in the home quarantine. In Morang, fever has been measured by 66 fever clinics, with a total of 488 females and 454 males. In Morang, 7 people were reported negative and 2 reports yet to come as of swab test report. and till 3rd April, 4 men are at an isolation ward.
Positive Effort: On April 3, the Kerabari Rural Municipality has distributed of rice and foodstuffs for households in which 112 in ward 1, 67 in ward 2, 75 inward 3, with support of total 4,320 kg rice, and other food grain. According to the Chairperson of Rural Municipality Shanti Kumari Limu Bhujel, they have distributed 20 kg rice, 1 kg pulses, 2 kg salt and 1 litre of oil to each family.
The Federation of Nepalese Industries has made available 11 lakh equivalent foodstuffs to the provinces. The Federation of Food Supplies, including rice, lentils, salt, oil and beaten rice has been provided to Chief Minister Sherdan Rai on behalf of the Federation. An additional Rs. 21,00,000 has been added to the Corona Public Safety Fund set up by the state government for the prevention, protection and treatment of corona. In the fund, Kumari Bank Limited has handed over Rs 10 lakh, Machhapuchere Bank Limited 5 lakh, Garima Bikash Bank 5 lakh and construction entrepreneur Sangh Morang handed over one lakh one thousand to Chief Minister Sherdan Rai.
According to Taplejung District Representative Devraj Gurung, 6 persons have been kept in Quarantine on Tilok Mavi in Sirijanga rural municipality of the district. 6 men were kept in quarantine of ward no.1 of rural municipality. The Rural Municipality have constructed quarantines of 20 beds in Tilak Secondary School and 4 isolation rooms in the Primary Health Center. 148 Quarantine beds has been constructed in the district. As per Rural Municipality, they have added quarantine construction, the number is increasing, said District representative Niraula.
Positive Efforts – The Faktanglung Rural Municipality have begun collecting statistics for the economically weaker families. In each ward, relief will be distributed immediately after the committee has been constituted under the leadership of the ward chair. Chairperson of same rural municipality Saroj Aveng informed that they would provide 25 kg of rice, 2 kg of salt and 2 litres of oil for a family of up to 4 members.
According to Dhankuta District Representative, Ishwar Thapa, a Corona sample test report from a youth from Dhankuta from Portugal has come out negative. According to the District Hospital, Dhankuta, the corona test report came out negative on April 3 when the youth was treated for isolation of the district hospital. District Hospital Information Officer Rajan Regmi said that a negative report had been received in Swab test at BP Koirala Health Foundation and Teku in the capital. Jairam Shrestha, information officer at the District Administration Office, Dhankuta, said that 61 other home quarantine from the district came from foreign employment.
Positive Efforts – Coronavirus (COVID 19) has been made available to the District Hospital by the Nepalese Army with personal protective equipment used by healthcare workers in the treatment of infected and infected patients. On April 3, the troops of the Nepal Army’s Baron Salleri Barracks provided PPE prepared using local resources and domestic materials. Likewise, 45 lapsed labourers of the District Administration Office have been returned home with a travel permit.
According to Okhaldhunga District Representative Shiva Prasad Dhungana, BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences has been sent to the swab to Ghopa on April 3 for self-examination of the three persons who were kept in isolation. The number of quarantines is stable for 11 people.
Positive effort – Siddicharan Municipality has provided food support to 4 labourers.
According to Udaypur District Representative Bharat Khadka, the number of people living in Quarantine in Udaipur is increasing day by day. According to Mohan Suwadi, head of the District Public Health Office, the number of 7 people living in Rutamai, 8 in Motigada of Triyuga Municipality, 9 in Belka Municipality, 26 in Katari and 11 in Limchungbung Rural Municipality. In isolation, two women have been kept in the district hospital. The municipality of Belka has checked the health of 25 persons from abroad. According to Subedi, the capacity of the quarantine is three hundred and eighty-one in the district with a capacity of 20 in Municipality of Belka, 32 in Chaudandi, 25 in Triyuga, 200 in Katari, Udayapargadi Rural municipality 25, Rautamai 31, Limchungbung 23 and 24 inTapali.
Positive Efforts – Local administration, security personnel are deployed, and the number of people coming to Quarantine has increased after local government with special interest and actively coming from abroad and searching for the coronavirus suspect, said public health chief Subedi. As the lockdown is prolonged, locals have intensified relief work in all four municipalities of the food district with the help of various organizations and individuals.
According to Terathum District Representative Bhagiswar Limbu, till April 3, 5 persons have been kept in quarantine in the district. 37 people were placed in Home Quarantine. 3 people has been kept in isolation. 2 people have been tested swab but did report yet to come.
Positive effort – Myanglung municipality has sprayed the medicine in the market area of the city on April 3. The pesticides are sprayed in Myunglung Market and Jirikhimti Market. The Myanglung Municipality has distributed relief toward 1, 2 and 3. Distribution of 10 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulses, 1 kg of salt and one packet of oil per family is distributed
According to Bhojpur District Representative Ganesh Bista, the number of people living in Quarantine in Bhojpur has reached 12. they are from Salpasalicho, Shadananda Municipality and Ram Prasad Rai Municipality. There are nine quarantines in the Singhamalika Secondary School’s room at Kamlettar in Ward No. 1 Kulung in Salpasalicho.
According to Panchthar District Representative Mangal Begha, three patients at the district hospital were discharged on March 29 on suspicion of coronavirus (Kovid 29). The hospital said the sample of those who came from overseas was discharged after the test appeared negative. The doctor was sent to the VP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences at Sunsari Dharan on March 30 to test the swab of a woman and two men, said Dr Buddha Bahadur Thapa of the hospital. They were admitted to the hospital on March 27.
To prevent corona infection in the district, five isolations have been established in the district headquarters, five in Samarpit hospital, 11 in Pathibhara Hospital of all total 22 quarantines. Eight local government of the district have prepared quarantine of 207 beds. To keep those suspected of infection, Yangwarak Municipality has constructed 30 quarantine beds, Hillyhang Village Council has constructed 28 quarantine bed, Phalilung Municipality has constructed 40 quarantines bed, and Fidim Municipality has constructed 45 quarantines bed. Similarly, Phalgunanda Rural Municipality has constructed 10 quarantine, 10 of Kummaik Rural Municipalities, Tumbawa Rural Municipality constructed of 29 quarantines bed and 15 of Miklajung Rural Municipality.
According to Ilam District Representative Kokila Dhakal, Ilam Municipality, My Municipality and Sunrise Municipality have sprayed the medicine on April 2. Jeevan Sharma of Ilam Municipality-1 has contributed Rs. 10,000 to the Emergency Disaster Relief Fund established by the Ilam Municipality. Sandakpur Rural Municipality has arranged a discount to buy from Rs 1 to Rs 5 per kg in daily consumables in coordination with the local store.
According to Solukhumbu District Representative Bhoj Raj Karki, two persons have been kept in quarantine in the district till April 1. According to Sankhuwasabha District Representative Bhavin Karki, till April 1, 73 men and seven women have been kept in quarantine in Sankhuwasabha.
