Five children of Teknath Raut (45) of Chandrapur Municipality-8, Betauni, are deprived of their Right to Education due to lack of birth certification.
Before four years, his 43-year-old wife disappeared and they did not have a marriage registration certificate: the children also couldn’t get their birth registration certificate, said Raut. His children are daughter Kagaj Devi Raut (25), sons Abhaya Raut (17), Amit Raut (15) ,Badal Raut (10) and Sunny Raut (8). Since their mother disappeared, the ward office hasn’t given them birth registration certificate.
Sona Lal Yadav, Principal of Shree Dalit Janajagaran Basic School, Chandrapur Municipality-8, Betauni said, they had to follow the rules and for the admission, birth certificate is a must. He added, if interested to study, environment can be managed but without admission.
According to Paswat Chaudhary, Chairperson of Chandrapur Municipality-8, the software of the computer doesn’t accept children without birth registration certificate. They have committed of having a meeting in the municipality for coming with some alternatives.
