Melauli Municipality’s all nine wards are without secretaries. This is hampering the beneficiaries. Dharma Raj Neupane, chief administrative officer says since there isn’t a single secretary in the entire municipality, the flow of service is obstructed. He added, due to lack of secretaries, they are compelled to delegate the technical assistants.
He said, ‘None of the wards have secretaries, even the municipality is having staff crisis. The flow of services is hindered and the beneficiaries are facing problem. The task of registrations is being done by only one staff.’
Most of the registrations are supposed to be signed by the secretaries and in their absence all the works is being carried out by a single staff through the municipality.
These wards have been facing problem since the formation of local level bodies. He locals complain regarding their dissatisfaction and the problems they have been facing in every sector supported by the government.
As there are no ward secretaries, the locals have to reach the municipality every now and then. Laxman Parki, a local says, ‘For every kind of works we have to visit the municipality and we are waiting for these services to resume in our wards.’
