Guru Prasad Baral from Morang District Selected for Twenty-Fifth Prakash Human Rights Prize

INSEC has decided to award Twenty-Fifth Prakash Human Rights Prize to Guru Prasad Baral from Morang District. Mr. Baral has been awarded by this prize for his five decades of energetic time contribution to end exploitation, poverty, injustice, discrimination and harmful malpractices of Nepali society. Dr. Indira Shrestha, chairperson of INSEC, has shared the decision this afternoon.

Dr. Shrestha further informed that the Prakash Human Rights Prize Selection Committee chaired by INSEC General Secretary Ramesh Chandra Poudel along with the treasurer Gita Baral and Nilam Shekhar Adhikari, executive board member of INSEC, has decided to honor Mr. Baral with the prize.

INSEC has established this prize to memorize the contribution of its founder general secretary Mr. Prakash Kafle in Nepali human rights and social justice movement who died in Thai Air crash happened on 31 July 1992 at Ghoptebhir.

INSEC organize Prakash Human Right Day every year after the sudden demise of Mr. Kafle. Twenty four persons have been awarded with this prize since it’s established.

INSEC has scheduled to honor Mr. Baral with the prize by chief guest Honorable Governor of Province One Professor, Doctor Gobinda Bahadur Tumbahang on August 1, 2019.
