Dalit community in Amargadhi have complained that the milk produced from the cows are not getting market just because of them being Dalit.
Recently Dalits are allowed to enter into temple and hotels in public places however while selling milk they are not getting market according to Surech Tamrakar of Amargadhi Municipality-7. He added “the milk produced by the cow belonging to Dalit are not getting market”.
Priviously, dalits were selling milk in the dairy shops in the district headquarter however nowadays thise shops are cloased and other vendors have denied to purchase their milk.
“We are compelled to sell buttel in a very low price after the milk are not sold in the district” said Hari Sarki of Amargadhi Municipaity-2. He added that there the untouchability is not openly done however it is still prevailing in the society.
