The health services at Yangbarak Rural Municipality-3 was affected after it was padlocked from September 3 against the death of postnatal mother Geeta Dewan Seling, 25. The locals accused that she died due to the negligence from the health professionals.
The victim woman died on September 2 and postmortem of the body is yet to be done. The victim’s family have accused that she died due to the negligence from the health professionals however the health professionals are claiming that she died on the way to the District Hospital. The victim who was doing a regular checkup was admitted in the health post on August 31.
The victim’s family have lodged complaint against Assistant Health Worker Tej Bahadur Shahi, AHW Sonami Tamang and ANM Barsha Gautam at District Police Office. However SI Bishnu Khadka of DPO said that the complaint is not registered yet as the dialogue between the stakeholder and victim’s family is undergoing.
The NHRC officer Santosh Acharya of province 1 said that the death of postnatal mother is very sad.
