The victim’s party of 46 years old detainee Sanju Sherpa has organized a press statement and demanded for the fair investigation of his death in course of treatment. The victim was sent to the prison on July 8 under the charge of drug smuggling.
The regional prison of Jhumka said that he died in course of treatment on July 13 and handed over the body to the family without postmortem. The victim sustained several bruises over his body and family are suspicious on his death. He was rushed to the hospitalby the prison administration on July 13 saying that he is ill.
The victim’s wife Lila Maya Rai, during the press meet accused police of handing over the body without postmortem.
The victim’s family is saying that his death is very suspicious as he sustained several bruises and blood stains in his body.
