The inmates and detainees of the district prison of Darchula are facing difficulties in treatment due to the lack of health professionals. The District prison said that they are facing issues since the last years.
Information officer Bijaya Kumar Thakur of the prison said that the problem is due to the lack of senior health workers despite of having post for it. Inmates and detainees are taken to other hospital for even minor treatment raising the issue of security. The administration is compelled to take them for treatment with handcuff which is against human rights.
There are 31 inmates and nine detainees in the district prison.
