The health organizations of Apihimal Rural Municipality of Darchula are in severe medicine crunch after the municipality failed to purchase enough essential medicine.
In all six wards of the Rural Municipality, there is shortage of essential medicine. There is no medicine of Dihhrea as summer is approaching. Patients come for treatment however they had to go empty handed as there are no medicine. The local level has not initiated yet for the purchase of medicine. Ghusha Health Post is having shortage of eye drops for the eye patients.
The beneficiaries complained of not getting iron capsule essential for pregnant women. Assistant Health Worker Kamal Singh Dhami of Khandeshwori Health Post said that there has been a shortage of iron capsule since one month. He added that pregnant women had to return back empty handed due to the lack of essential medicine during pregnancy.
