INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel said that for human rights activists, election is a responsible sector.Speaking at the program organized by Citizen’s Campaign For Clean Election (CCCE) in Pyuthan on November 18,chairperson Pyakurel emphasized the responsibilities of observers during the election and added that there is shortage of coordinating organization in the district during observation.
He said that the violation of election code of conduct cannot be controlled only by written decision by the political parties and added that he is recommending the concerned bodies to cover a big loop holes. He also said that people are not clear on voting process and the voter’s education must be operated effectively.
Speaking at the program, HURON general secretary Mahamunishwor Acharya said that Election Commission being an independent guild is not being able to work as per the expectation.
Dr Shiva Raj Pandit, chairperson of Nepal Bar Association Pyuthan said that the arrest of NCP cadres without any valid reason is not a good aspect of Human Rights and activists must give attention on this issue.
