Nepal Food Corporation has said that it will return back the money on the issue of not providing the rice, in terms of grant, committed by the GoN to the dwellers of Karnali for their birth and death rituals after the initiation from INSEC.
The issue was raised by INSEC and attention of Nepal Food Corporation, CDO and other stakeholders were drawn by the INSEC on October 10 along with the publication of the news on its INSEC Online news portal. INSEC had also informed about the issue to the media of the district.
After the news was published in INSEConline and other media, the Food Corporation of Humla had shown its commitment to return back the money according to corporation’s chief Narayan Singh KC.
The Food Corporation of Humla was distributing 20 Kgs of free rice to the dwellers of five districts of Karnali for their birth and death rituals as a grant based on a recommendation from rural municipality. But in Humla, the corporation was charging money with the family liable to get the grant. However, Food Corporation of Humla said that the charging of money was by mistake and also accepted that three families were charged for the rice.
Food Corporation chief of Humla showed his grief and said that money was charged by mistake and committed to return back the money to the families.
