The District Court of Siraha has ordered to sentence 55 years old Pawan Kumar Yadav of Kalyanpur Jabdi for five years along with the penalty of Rs 50,000 on charge misbehaving a woman of being witch.
A single bench of district court judge Dhruba Prasad Sapkota has given a verdict regarding the case. The court has also decided to gibe acquittal to other accused.
A complaint was lodged by the victim Mohani Devi Yadav’s family at Area Police Office of Mirchaiya on July 31 last year against Pawan Yadav and his sons 22 years old Saroj Yadav, 19 years old Lal Babu Yadav and one 17 years old boy accusing them of misbehaving a victim on June 23 , 2016 of being witch.
According to Area Police Office, Saroj was arrested by the police on a same day however others were absconding after the incident. The District Court on August 15, had ordered to remand Saroj in custody and was released on bail amount of Rs 1,00,000
