UML Ward co-coordinator, Padam Sanjel-44 of Itahari sub-metropolitan city -17was attacked by a group of NC cadres on June 26.
He was attacked by NC cadres Harka Karki, Khem Pandhak, Chandan Nayak, Padam Rai, Mahendra Rai along with others while he was on the way to meet his relative.
Lokendra Sanjel, elder brother of Padam is a CPN-UML candidate for ward-chairman in Itahari sub-metropolitan city -17. According to victim, he was attacked while he was going to visit his ill relative. He added, he was also mentally tortured by the attackers.
He sustained facial injuries. According to victim’s relative he is undergoing treatment at the Apex hospital. DSP Naresh Subedi of Area Police Office, Itahari said that the investigation is carried on regarding the incident.
