Citizen’s Campaign for Clean Election (CCCE) has organized an interaction program on voter’s education, code of conduct and human rights situation among the political leaders, civil society and stakeholders as the second phase of local level election is approaching.
Speaking at the program organized in Bhairahawa by INSEC on June 11, leader of the campaign and INSEC chairperson Subodh Raj Pyakurel said that this local level election which is going to be held after two decades is not same as previous local level. He added that this election is delivering full rights to the people. He said that it will give a realization of legislative, judiciary and executive.
He also urged to create an environment so that all political parties can participate the election. He added that the solution of all problem is an election and there is no alternative than this. He stressed and urged all political parties and concerned stakeholders to play a role on making election fair, clean and fearless.
Leader of the campaign and chairperson of HURON Indra Prasad Aryal said that the political parties having faith on democracy should not run away from the election and urged Madhes centered party not to do this mistake. Aryal Added ” one can protest in democracy or can put different view but, protesting against the election is against the democracy”.
Chief District Officer Binod Prasad Singh said that the security situation of the district has been tightened focusing the upcoming election on June 28.
CDO Singh said that party can say that they will not participate the election but cannot obstruct the democratic process or cannot violate the rights of voters. He added that the administration will not tolerate if someone performs anti- human rights activities.
He added that the administration is ready and active on managing all the obstructions during the local level election.
SP Benu Prasad Pathak of armed police said that the security management has been tightedned in the district.
NHRC sub regional office chief Buddha Narayan Sahani of Butwal urged everyone to build human rights culture to make the election fair and fearless.
Advocate and coordinator Shiva Gaudel of Advocacy Forum urged to draw attention for the security of voters. He also urged administration to be alert as there can be power abuse in the name of observer.
Election officer Hum Nath Gautam of District Election Office said that the election preparation is in final phase and training for the voting officer has been concluded.
District vice president Shre Ram Gupta of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum urged all parties to participate the election as it is important democratic process.
