Escaped Inmates from Various Jails Rearrested

Six inmates who escaped from various jails during the Gen-Z protests were arrested on September 14, 2025. According to DSP Suraj Karki of the Rupandehi District Police Office, the arrested individuals include inmates who had escaped from Chitwan, Nawalparasi, and the Central Jail in Kathmandu.

DSP Karki stated that several inmates escaped from various prisons: Monu Kashyap, 38, of Uttar Pradesh, India, who was involved in a vehicular killing case escaped from from Chitwan Jail, Karishma Rana, 52, from Sainamaina Municipality, Rupandehi, involved in a polygamy case, escaped from Nawalparasi Jail, Ramdhani Simba Magumba, 53, and Kaashuv, 47, from Tanzania, both involved in cocaine-related cases, escaped from Central Jail, Kathmandu, Nabin Bahadur Pun, 37, escaped from Baglung Jail in Galkot, and Dinesh BK 26, from Syangja, escaped from Kapilvastu Jail in Simlaganj.

DSP Karki stated that all those arrested have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings. Since some inmates who escaped during the protests could cross into India via the Nepal-India border, the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force are maintaining strict surveillance along the border.
