Shortly after her appointment, President Ramchandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to her in a ceremony organized at Shital Niwas.
The Office of the President has officially announced the appointment of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki as the Prime Minister of Nepal’s interim government. According to the statement, this decision was taken in light of the circumstances facing the nation, reflecting the aspirations of the younger generation and following consultations with political parties and relevant stakeholders. President Ramchandra Paudel exercised his constitutional authority to uphold the Constitution and promote national unity. In accordance with constitutional provisions, the interim government led by Prime Minister Karki is tasked with conducting elections to the House of Representatives within six months.
